    HENRY C. KIOKO

    FOUNDER CHAIR, WQM Coop

     Henry is the Founder  Chairperson Wafugaji & Quality Meat Coop Society Ltd. He is instrumental in outlining the vision for structured cooperative operations, availing top genetics, value addition, and improved community- based breeding programs.

    Henry says WQM shall focus on transforming it's livestock members from subsistence to a commercialized, sustainable producers.

    Henry spearheads  organizing farmers into producer groups to improve market quality and commercial viability of livestock.

    Henry is an Official Affiliate Partner of the Regvic Stud  Botswana offering an Online Small Stock University to help East African farmers access practical training.

    Henry is a livestock importer/exporter serves as the Eastern Africa Representative for Karoo Livestock Export  South African and the Kroon Vee Brahman Stud Breeders based in South Africa and an independent consultant focused on growing livestock enterprise  and breeding to improve indigenous breeds on East Africa to produce high-quality goats and sheep for meat and milk.

    Henry is spearheading a partnership with global GPC and Breeding facilities experts in reproductive health to set up a Small Ruminant Semen Collection Centre and Embryo Transfer Facility in Kenya.

    MBINYA MUTISO

    A passionate sheep and goats farmer. She is a fodder producer and champions agroforestry tevhnology. She has over 18 years of experience in agriculture and livestock value chains.
    At WQM , Mbinya shall champion financial inclusion and promote Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in climate
    adaptation ensure that vulnerable groups—women, people with disabilities, and

    marginalized communities in livestock production are not left behind.

    SYLVESTER GITAU

    A dedicated and growing livestock farmer based in Selengei, specializing in sheep farming with an integrated approach to feed production. Over the past year, he has established a sustainable farming system that combines animal husbandry with on-farm feed cultivation, ensuring consistent nutrition, reduced operational costs and improved livestock productivity.

I aspire to transform livestock farming from a "village job" into a serious business, utilizing modern techniques to maximize efficiency in beef, and small-stock meat production.

    GILBERT NZOMO

    Gilbert is the Managing Director at Risk Africa Innovatis Ltd (Africa), expert in Risk Management automation, advisory and training. In his vast career in the field, he has developed advanced specialist skills in Predictive analytics (AI/ML), Basel III, Solvency II, Strategic Risk Management, Information Security Risk Management, Fraud Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, Human Capital & Operational Risk Management, Big Data analytics, Security Risk Management, Compliance Risk Management, Anti-money laundering and Risk-based Internal Audit among others.

    Gilbert has recently developed a centralised risk management framework for the Government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Finance (MINECOFIN) and has successfully implemented practical risk management solutions in various public sector entities including Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA). In his vast career, he has also assisted the Australian Tax Office (ATO) in setting up and automation of Enterprise Risk Management with Protecht.ERM system, while locally he has implemented risk management in public sector entities such as Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Agriculture Food Authority (AFA), Kenya Railways (KR), National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), SASRA among others.

    Through his work, he has contributed to clients success in not only helping them to achieve compliance objectives but also to drive process efficiencies and identify strategic opportunities and realize organisational goals and objectives.

    CHIHENYO MVOYI

    Chihenyo is a a mixed livestock farmer keeping goats for slaughter.
    A dedicated agri-entrepreneur, operating in the coastal semi-arid regions of Kenya.
    She  utilizes goats as a primary source of economic and poverty reduction. Her farm operations focus on meat-producing breeds like Galla goat and Boer goat which are fast growing and high-quality meat.
    Through WQM Coop,  Chihenyo aims to transform and encourage more women to venture into livestock production.

    KYALO KIBUA

    A small-scale farmer dedicated to both crop and animal husbandry, with a focused commitment to identifying and cultivating the highest quality stock suited for semi-arid environments. The goal is to apply and share efficient, sustainable livestock practices and technologies that are environmentally sound and economically practical with fellow farmers in the community to build lasting resilience, self-sufficiency, and long-term profitability.'

    David Malla

    David Malla, is a Dorper breeder and an entrepreneur at Machakos County.
    David has been involved Dorper farming due to the breed's unique traits in Meat Production and it's Hardiness. They are extremely resilient, drought-tolerant, and capable of thriving in semi-arid climates.
    David says by strengthening the cooperative, we help farmers pool resources, share risks, and access better markets, directly increasing their income and food security.

    Alex Mumo Malla

    Alex Mumo Malla is a livestock farmer and a seasoned Financial Inclusion and Enterprise Development Expert with over 25 years of experience across finance, agriculture, renewable energy, water and sanitation, and climate sustainability.
    As Managing Director of Fineline Management Systems, he has led transformative initiatives that expanded access to finance for over 300,000 individuals and MSMEs, strengthened institutional capacity across East and Southern Africa, and mobilized over US$ 5 million in development funding.
    Renowned for his collaborative leadership, Alex has worked with governments, donors, and global partners including USAID, IFAD, AGRA, DFID, SNV, and ILO.
    His expertise spans MSME programme design, agribusiness value chain financing, and governance reform, consistently delivering board-ready strategies and sustainable growth models.
    He is passionate about empowering women, youth, and underserved communities through inclusive finance and enterprise innovation

     

    CHARLES KYALO MBINDO,

    Charles is a livestock Farmer based in Makueni and Machakos County. Charles is a producer focused on supplying quality cattle, goats, and sheep for the local beef and meat market. He is committed to driving sustainable growth in the semi-arid landscape through disciplined animal husbandry, smart water management, and rotational grazing. Currently, Charles is prioritizing market development and expansion, seeking to leverage strategic partnerships to scale production and improve off-take efficiency. He is eager to network with fellow producers and stakeholders within the livestock ecosystem to share insights, modernize value chains, and create robust market-led opportunities for the region.

    Tom is a Dorper farmer  operates a high-potential, specialized mutton enterprise focusing on fast-growing, hardy sheep and fodder production. He prioritizes to keep over 100 sheep and a smaller, high-quality flock for breeding. He utilizes rotational grazing with supplemental feeding, particularly for meat production to meet high market demand. 
    He aims for a large flock to capitalize on economies of scale.
    Tom has joined WQM cooperative society primarily to overcome limitations in scale, access to markets, and resources. 

    WQM Coop Society provide a collective platform to improve profitability, manage risks, and enhance the technical skills necessary for successful, large-scale commercial farming..

    JOSEPH ROTICH

    Joseph Rotich is the proprietor of Chebore Farm Enterprise and a dedicated livestock farmer based in Kitui and Njoro with over 8 years of experience in animal husbandry. The farm specializes in rearing ; dairy and dual purpose cattle ,goats and sheep .With a focus on milk production and meat supply.

    Currently, maintains a flock of approximately 150 cows and 50 goats and sheep, including breeds such as Fresian,Ayrshire and sahiwal .Production averages include 200 liters of milk per day,contributing to both household income and local food supply. I  employ zero grazing system and ensures consistent access to water from the borehole.

    Good management practices are observed, including routine vaccination, disease control measures, and artificial insemination. Futhermore I have a  basic production and health records that improves efficiency. Products are sold through;local markets and direct buyers, although challenges such as  high feed costs, disease outbreaks and  market fluctuations are persistant.

    Looking ahead  to expand production, improve livestock breeds, and adopt modern farming technologies to increase productivity and profitability.

    It operates as a diversified enterprise across serving meat producers in the region.
